5 Lead Magnets That Actually Work

Lead magnets and your email list is crucial to the growth of your business. Do you know why people say the money is in the list? Here’s why: Once someone is on your email list you have the opportunity to sell to them. Aside from getting them into a Sales Funnel, you have a direct line to update them on your brand, to give them valuable information they can use, and of course, show them your products and offers.

Your list is very important and building it should be of utmost importance.

How do you build your list, and why in the hell would anyone give you their email?

We are going to go over some very creative opt-ins and lead magnets. Before we do that there are a few things you should know.

Rule #1 Offer your visitors something of value!

As you will see below there is a common theme with the optin offers. The offer a quick solution to a common problem your readers and potential customers have.

Rule #2 Know thy Visitor

Most of your visitors are early on their journey, they are novices and they need easy solutions.

Rue #3 Diversify

One of the biggest mistakes people make is having just one opt-in. To make it worse the default opt-in is to an anemic blog. Hahaha! You know it’s true and it’s the least effective way to grow a list.

Rule #4 Deliver. BIG TIME!

This is most likely the first “agreement” between you and your reader. If you deliver big on your promise you are on your way to building trust. People don’t buy from those that they don’t trust.

Ok so let’s get to it here are some of my favorite and most creative email opt-ins.

Webinar/Video Training

This is great for 2 reasons. First of all, it’s a great way to show off. Find a subject relating to your brand and talk about it. Secondly, it’s fairly simple to do. If you worried about setting up. Remember this doesn’t have to be a “live” webinar. You can simply record a screencast and post the video on your site.

If you have a service like house painting, you could do a video on 3 ways to determine if your exterior needs repainting. Or a video explaining how to spot hidden charges shady contractors try to stick you with.

The Quiz

This opt-in challenges your visitor to test their knowledge of a subject. Why this works is because as I mentioned before most of you readers are novices and they are eager to show that they are not novices.
